Chamber Operations
The Marystown-Burin Area Chamber of Commerce is run by a two-member staff and a 15-member Board of Directors. Elected for two-year terms and governed by an organizational constitution, the Board of Directors comprises Chamber members from various sectors of the local economy. Its projects and initiatives are driven by a number of sub-committees.
Developments in issues brought to the attention of the Chamber are discussed at publically-open meetings, held on the second Wednesday of each month. Agendas and minutes from these meetings are public information, and are available through the Chamber's head office.
Mission Statement:The Marystown-Burin Area Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in our region, promoting prosperity, growth and business excellence. In a recent study conducted by the Atlantic Business Magazine, titled "Who Delivers The Best Value?", volunteer organizations throughout Atlantic Canada were ranked according to a random satisfaction survey of its members.
The Marystown-Burin Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that after the survey had been completed, our members placed us 16th overall out of all of Atlantic Canada's organizations!
The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all the members of the public who has supported them throughout the past several years.
